The Most Astounding Fact by Neil DeGrasse Tyson
Astrophysicist Dr. Neil DeGrasse Tyson was asked by a reader of TIME magazine, “What is the most astounding fact you can share with us about the Universe?” This is his answer.
When you take something great, like the musings of the mind of Dr. Neil deGrasse Tyson, and combine it with something else great, like stunning images of life and wonder on and off of Earth … you get this.
It’s the sort of video that makes you prop your chin up in your hand, with your head tilted just so (yeah, like that), as you stare at your computer screen mumbling things like “Ahhh“ and “Wooahh” and other unintelligible noises that mean “I approve of this, and it makes me feel good.”
Watch it once, then twice, then with a friend.

=============================================
A newly hatched troll grub begins with a body composed of a head and five segments, the largest being the thorax, and the rest the abdomen. Each have a pair of thoracic legs, and three pairs of abdominal prolegs on the second, third and fifth segment. There is a line of cartilage that stems from the head that eventually becomes a spine. The fifth segment encloses the spinning apparatus for developing silk, and on the end is the spinneret.

Actually, the “door” in question is actually not a door at all!
If we turn this “door” clockwise we reveal…
…that it is actually a door frame!!
It is a piece of paneling from the doorframe in the First Class lounge based off a piece that was actually recovered:
This piece isn’t more than 3cm at maximum thickness!
In reality, if the panel in the movie was based off the actual panel,
It shouldn’t have held either of them afloat!!
Holy fuck

BEST THING BEST BEST BEST
i love art based on math and i love how their method of assigning notes to numbers was absolutely straightforward, it wasn’t skewed to make sure the result would be euphonious, and yet they got such a sweet little melody.
